home | version française | contact Smiling Children is a non-profit organisation based in Switzerland and the United Kingdom. In order to fully meet our objectives, we develop and support school enrolment projects for girls. We also develop projects aimed at empowering women. The aim of these projects is to fight against child labour, facilitate access for girls to schools and promote the social and professional integration or reintegration of women. At present, our projects and programs are intended for girls and young women in Morocco, Afghanistan, the West Bank and Israel (The “Little Maids” program, the Al Fatah School Rehabilitation project, the “Teenagers Leading Social Change” program and the “Increasing Female Employment” program). We also design projects that generate employment and income in the above countries (the Olive Oil and the Women Kiosk projects in Morocco, the Olive Oil project in the West Bank, the Goat and Cow Cheese-making project in Afghanistan and the “Promoting Employment and Entrepreneurship for Women” program in Israel). Through these projects focusing on training and employment creation for women, we aim to help women reach social and financial self-reliance. Smiling Children also provides spontaneous emergency aid (Sri-Lanka after the tsunami, shipment of medicine to Lebanon in partnership with Innocence in Distress).
